The Manufacturing Database Administrator is responsible for maintaining and updating Manufacturing Bills of Material (MBOMs) and Material Master (MM) attributes within Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, primarily PTC Windchill. This role partners closely with Manufacturing Engineers, Master Data Analysts, and Component Engineers to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and quality of manufacturing data. As a key resource supporting manufacturing operations, this position focuses on database administration, data stewardship, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. The Manufacturing Database Administrator serves as a subject matter expert for manufacturing data management and plays a critical role in supporting client's digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and update Manufacturing Bills of Material (MBOMs) and Material Master (MM) attributes within PLM systems. Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of manufacturing part data across multiple sites and programs. Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve system errors, data mismatches, and cross-site data discrepancies. Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Component Engineers, and Master Data Analysts to improve data quality and process efficiency. Provide recommendations to enhance database automation and streamline data management processes. Support data governance and stewardship activities to maintain compliance with manufacturing and engineering standards. Generate metrics, reports, and performance indicators related to manufacturing data quality and system performance. Train and support new engineers and team members on database processes, tools, and best practices. Promote collaboration and data consistency across teams, sites, and business functions. Support ongoing PLM and digital transformation initiatives, including client's transition.
Basic Qualifications:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Analytical mindset with experience working with databases and structured data systems. Technical background in manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, defense, or a related field. Experience with manufacturing specifications, military specifications, or technical documentation. Experience working with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, preferably PTC products. Ability to independently troubleshoot technical issues, system errors, and data inconsistencies with minimal supervision.
Desired Qualifications:
STEM degree preferred but not required. Experience reviewing and interpreting manufacturer Technical Data Sheets (TDS). Familiarity with PTC Windchill and MPMLink software. Experience collecting, compiling, maintaining, and validating data within structured database environments. Knowledge of manufacturing data management, configuration management, and product lifecycle processes. Proximity to Owego, NY, or ability to work within the site's operational requirements. BI03

$20.00 - $26.00 per hour
