Population Health Data Analyst

The Torrance Memorial IPA is looking for an entry level Data Analyst, Population Health to conduct health care data analyses and develop business intelligence using Torrance Memorial's various data sources. This data analyst will work closely with internal and external teams to solve complex data questions and support business needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following tasks describe the basic functions of the job. The following percentages of time spent are approximations only. Conduct data analyses using Torrance Memorial's many data sources including Oracle's Health Data Intelligence data platform and health plan data sources to answer complex questions for business. [20%] Develop advanced SQL queries to build standard data sets and create business intelligence solutions to facilitate and streamline data reporting and analysis needs. [20%] Support ad-hoc data requests as well as working with internal and external teams to troubleshoot and resolve any potential data issues. [20%] Continue to develop health care business domain knowledge and be able to support key business stakeholders and functional areas as needed. [20%] Document methodology for standard data and metrics as well as solutions to data issues for future reference. [10%] Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. [10%]

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, statistics, or related field. Master's degree preferred. Experience with health care data is a plus. Basic knowledge of business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI. Intermediate SQL skills including query building and query performance tuning. Advanced verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal relations skills. Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve business issues with little supervision. Effective team player and ability to manage multiple deadlines and changing priorities.
