JOB TITLE
US Medical Systems, Analytics, & Reporting SpecialistLOCATION
South San Francisco (Hybrid)Position Overview:
This position is within the Medical Education & Communication team at Genentech. We are seeking a highly analytical and process-oriented Systems, Analytics, & Reporting Specialist to drive the optimization of our organizational systems and data. This role is responsible for liaising within the Medical Education & Communication team and partnering closely with cross functional stakeholders to facilitate managing and optimizing data systems and platforms, conducting and providing analytics to drive actionable insights, and enabling and generating reports to inform decision making. You will bridge the gap between technical system management and business operations, serving as the primary lead for system transitions, automation, and cross-functional reporting.Key Responsibilities:
System and Platform Management and OptimizationInfrastructure Lead:
○ Act as a central point of contact to assigned business partners/areas and provide expert perspectives and guidance regarding business requirements for new and existing systems and platforms. ○ Work closely with cross functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions ○ Conduct training for end users on system access; usage; and best practicesTransition & Implementation:
Manage critical system transitions and updates, ensuring data continuity and user adoption.Automation:
Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, reducing operational overhead and improving data accuracy. Analytics and ReportingData Strategy:
○ Anticipate, evaluate, and confirm portfolio trends and dynamics that help drive business decisions and strategies related to the USMA contact center and the broader Medical Education & Communication function ○ Expertly lead assessment of emerging tools and implement approaches/methods for reporting and data analysisPerformance Monitoring:
Expertly track and report on key organizational metrics, identifying trends and potential risksCustom Reporting:
Fulfill ad-hoc data requests and design automated reporting schedules for departmental leads Process and ComplianceData Integrity:
Conduct regular audits of system data to ensure high standards of accuracy and compliance with internal policies.Work Instructions:
Document and maintain system workflows and data entry guidelines.User Training:
Provide technical support and training to staff to maximize system utility and data quality. Education & ExperienceExperience:
5+ years of experience in systems administration, business analytics, or a related field.Technical Proficiency:
Advanced expertise in Salesforce systems, Tableau/Qlik dashboards, and Google suite. Strong understanding of Medical Affairs and Medical Information business needs within the pharmaceutical industry setting.Project Management:
Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and manage multiple stakeholders simultaneouslyAnalytical Skills:
Strong ability to translate raw data into strategic narratives and visual dashboards.Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Skills & Competencies- Outstanding attention-to-detail
- Demonstrated abilities to work with considerable independence in strategizing, designing and overseeing assigned activities as well as ad hoc assignments or projects
- Independent judgment and discretion to evaluate and interpret gray areas and matters of significance and make appropriate recommendations on course of action
- Strong investigational, analytical and complex problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills: can effectively and quickly establish rapport with all key internal/external customers, partners and other stakeholders. Can influence without authority
