American Airlines, Inc. has an opening for a Sr. Data Scientist, Customer Analytics to perform the following duties: Responsible for developing performance measurements and analytical tools to improve profitability, planning/forecasting processes, write code, and queries to generate outputs that support strategy information and decision-making; Present updates to key stakeholders, including senior leadership regarding the evaluation of customer-centric analytics and meaningful findings to the business; Create and maintain documentation related to the company's software solution and database environment; Perform validation of models to ensure adequacy, define data requirements, gather and validate information, and apply statistical tests; Develop performance measurements and analytical tools to improve profitability, planning, and forecasting; Write code and queries to generate outputs that support strategy information and decision making; Collaborate with other teams to gather the right information from various sources so you can implement advanced statistical methodologies and design interventions to optimize how our business can best perform; Obtain, manipulate, clean, and analyze structured and unstructured data from diverse sources; Apply advanced analytical techniques to answer customer-centric questions relevant to the business; Partner with other commercial teams and IT to develop and implement customers segmentations relevant to our commercial strategic objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in Information Technology and Management, Business Analytics, or related field plus 2 years of experience as Analyst, Data Scientist, Engineer, or any occupation in which the required experience was gained, plus demonstrated experience in: Proficient in SQL (data extraction, transformation, and querying) and related data querying tools; Data cleaning and preprocessing to handle large and complex datasets; Data visualization and reporting tools (Tableau or Power BI); Advanced excel (pivot tables, macros, and data modeling); Quantitative analysis using Python programming; Knowledge of database management systems, data structuring, and data architecture; Cloud computing or distributed computing (Azure Databricks or Spark); Analytical and problem solving skills with experience working in dynamic, evolving environments; Statistics and forecast modeling experience; Ability to solve and to lead others in solving complex analytical problems; Statistical and descriptive concepts and methodologies; Machine learning algorithms (XGBoost, Random Forest, and KNN); Customer analytics and quantitative marketing skills; Business analysis and reporting; Reporting and data analysis.

40 hours per week/8 a.m.-5 p.m./M-F.
