We are hiring a Senior Analyst Data Management Analyst (Full-time) to join the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health in Dallas, TX . In this role, you will support multi-site public health projects, including data collection, data management, and analytic coordination. The role works closely with investigators, analysts, and partners to support implementation, translate research questions into data workflows, and produce evaluation reports. Position Summary:
Performs advanced data management, harmonization, analysis, and troubleshooting for multi-site health services and implementation research projects. Works with EHR, survey, and community-based data and serves as a liaison among investigators, partners, analysts, and research staff to clarify data needs, resolve issues, and support analysis-ready datasets and reports.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Manages, cleans, harmonizes, and maintains datasets for multiple research projects, including EHR, survey, and community-based data sources. Develops and refines data requests, data dictionaries, data collection plans, workflows, and documentation to support evaluation, reporting, and data harmonization across healthcare and community-based systems. Communicates with investigators, health system/community partners, and research staff to articulate data requests, clarify evaluation and reporting requirements, troubleshoot data issues, and provide guidance on data collection tools, data structure, coding, quality checks, reporting workflows, and analytic needs. Uses statistical and analytic software to clean, manage, analyze, validate, and report research data. Creates, supports, and troubleshoots queries, workflows, and processes used to manage data and assess data quality. Develops and maintains quality assurance procedures and data validation processes for research datasets and databases. Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
Demonstrated experience using statistical software (e.g., Stata, R, SAS, or similar), preferred. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Excellent verbal communication and organization skills. Able to execute multiple tasks efficiently, reliably and meet deadlines. General knowledge of research field. Experience or interest in working with diverse communities, healthcare disparities, community-based research, electronic health record data and/or implementation or evaluation studies.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field required May substitute required education with equivalent years of experience beyond the minimum experience requirement.
Minimum Experience:
4 years of experience with complex databases required Experience providing analysis related to data quality required May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Security Sensitive:
This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code §51.215 and Texas Government Code §411.094. To the extent that a position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Texas Business and Commerce Code §117.001(2), the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired for and to continue to be employed in that position. Personnel in such positions, and similarly situated state contractors, will be routinely reviewed to determine whether things such as criminal history or continuous connections to the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the applicant, employee, or contractor from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure. A foreign adversary is a nation listed in 15 C.F.R. §791.4.
