MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer oriented Data Analyst to join our team in Ashburn, Virginia . This position is onsite two days a week. Each day U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) oversees the massive flow of people, capital, and products that enter and depart the United States via air, land, sea, and cyberspace. The volume and complexity of both physical and virtual border crossings require the application of solutions to promote efficient trade and travel. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Perform exploratory data analysis using statistical techniques to identify significant trends, patterns, correlations, and anomalies. Independently identify solutions for assigned business problems, and routinely collaborate with Enterprise/Application architects, Database Architects, Data Scientists, and mission stakeholders. Extract, clean, and transform data associated within an identified problem space to help build predictive models as well as develop appropriate supporting documentation. Leverage knowledge of a variety of statistical and machine learning techniques learned within school Execute projects including those intended to identify patterns and/or anomalies Research information as necessary Brief project management, technical design, and outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences including senior stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle through written as well as virtual reporting.
Minimum Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physical Science Engineering or a related field HS and 0-6 years or AS and 0-4 years or BS and 0-2 years Coursework related and/or prior internship related to data science/analytics Working knowledge of statistical modeling Knowledge of Python, R, Scala, or JavaScript Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
A passion for low-level / embedded data/science analytics Working knowledge or cloud computing/cloud storage Working knowledge of SQL Prior NTC experience, preferably with proficiency in operational data analysis.
Clearance Requirements:
Must be a U.S Citizenship with the ability to obtain DHS CBP Suitability prior to starting this position. Must be able to obtain and maintain a
Top Secret Clearance Physical Requirements:
Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time. Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer.
