200651578-0836 The Proactive Intelligence Platform is at the heart of an intelligent system experience that understands you and anticipates your needs. We are building an on-device personal and contextual intelligence platform that will benefit the millions of people who use Apple devices every day. Our team is comprised of Systems engineers and ML engineers focused on seamlessly integrating intelligence into all Apple products. Our team is responsible for developing exciting new features across all Apple platforms -- iOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, visionOS, and private cloud compute. You should have a strong understanding of operating system fundamentals and experience working throughout the stack. As a member of the team, you would participate in all stages of software development, from new feature design and implementation, to maintenance and bug fixing of released code. You will develop and improve unit tests and performance tests, and may also work on diagnosing and resolving customer reported issues. Description You will primarily be responsible for working on daemons and frameworks to support Apple Intelligence; including the management of models for on-device inference, routing to private cloud compute, scheduling document processing workloads to power search, on-device reporting on intelligence workloads, and other intelligence orchestration. Previous experience with writing or maintaining daemons, libraries and command line tools on a UNIX platform is key. You should have excellent analytical skills and debugging experience. In addition to developing and maintaining individual projects, you will also be expected to provide design guidance and technical support and expertise to teams across the company! Minimum Qualifications Expert-level skills in C, Objective-C, or Swift Strong understanding of OS architecture and systems programming fundamentals Excellent written and verbal communication Preferred Qualifications Experience with daemon or library development Creative, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills Exceptional professionalism, with the ability to deliver solid work on tight schedules A genuine passion for crafting compelling customer experiences Development experience on macOS and/or iOS Familiar with machine learning concepts Familiar with Xcode Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
