About the job Discover is one of the largest feed products in the world and part of the broader Search organization at Google. The Discover Experiences team is roughly 100 engineers and 10 product managers, and owns the user-facing (non-ranking) elements of the Discover product including feed units and experience, growth, AI integration into feed and more. As a data scientist on the Discover Experiences team focused on video, you will support the broader video efforts on the product, particularly the front-end (user-facing) video experience both in feed and post-click. This includes supporting and analyzing feature launches, but also developing an understanding of user behavior, including tradeoffs on key metrics, product-market fit with various user segments, and growth levers for both the video product and overall Discover.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $192,000-$278,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities Understand and report on Discover Video growth, drivers of growth and launch/holdback analysis. Size and articulate new growth opportunities for Discover Video. Understand the broader discover video ecosystem (including how ranking, content quality and experience interact from the user's perspective). Work with Cross-Functional Team (Product Management, Engineering, User Experience Research, Design) on launch analysis, product iteration, and impact quantification.
