Role:
If you are a seasoned Data Scientist with a proven track record of driving business impact through data-driven insights & strong background in leading Deep Learning & Operations Research related projects, this role is for you. We are looking to hire a candidate that holds Ph.D/Masters in Data Science and has a strong industry experience in solving deep learning, reinforcement learning and optimization problems. The candidate will be responsible for building complex, cutting edge, and scalable algorithms for optimization related initiatives in the Pricing domain. Further, the candidate will also be responsible to provide transparency on algorithmic recommendations that drive adoption and revenue impact. About theTeam:
The Applied AI team researches and develops algorithms that power areas like supply chain, pricing, assortment optimization, replenishment, store layout, etc. You will be working closely with other data scientists, machine learning engineers, operations research scientists and data analysts within the team as well collaborate with business teams, product managers, corporate strategists, software engineers and data engineers. We work with various techniques primarily from forecasting, operations research and often make use of techniques from machine learning (classical machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning), causal inference and statistics. Our work is innovative and is published in top tier conferences and journals.What You'll Do:
Develop cutting-edge Price Elasticity and Price Recommendation algorithms Develop efficient models scalable to hundreds of categories, thousands of stores at Walmart Provide transparency on algorithmic recommendations that drive adoption and revenue impact Prepare accurate data for the models to efficiently learn signals and eliminate noise Prepare thorough documentation of the developed frameworksWhat You'll Bring:
Sound knowledge of Python, SQL, PySpark, Machine Learning libraries, Big Data processing systems in cloud environment is expected Hands on experience with building Optimization/Reinforcement Learning models for multiple objectives Holds an MS/PhD in relevant technical degree (preferably Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering etc.) with 4+ years of relevant work experience A track record of building ML models or delivering impactful customer-facing products A track record of training and deploying vision models at scale (millions of classes, high-variance datasets) A business analytical mind with the ability to communicate with consumers of the model and present results in intuitive ways Experience analyzing data to identify patterns and conducting error/deviation analysis; passion for fixing issues in the data and finding the optimal representation Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch A continuous drive to explore, improve, enhance, automate, and optimize models and products Excellent oral and written communication skillsPreferred Experience and Qualifications:
Pricing background is strongly preferred Ph.D or Masters degree in Data Science strongly preferred Professional experience working with reinforcement learning modelsAbout Walmart Global Tech:

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00- $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
