Job Description

Overview:
As a member of the Quality Analytics team at Electric Boat, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining a culture of data-driven management to promote continuous improvement throughout the enterprise. The Quality Analytics team is a member of Electric Boat's growing Business Intelligence community, and our products support business expansion and drive productivity throughout the enterprise through the communication of quality performance. The ideal candidate will enable the community's growth and influence through championing data analytics principles and delivering actionable and reliable products to internal customers. Our team is actively modernizing quality data deliverables, with a strong emphasis on customer engagement and support. The competitive candidate will have examples of demonstrating customer focus, and the ability to convert legacy reporting into intuitive products.
Responsibilities:
As a Data Modeler on our BI team, you will design, build, and optimize data models that power our reporting and analytics solutions. You'll collaborate closely with analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure data is structured for efficiency, scalability, and clarity.
Duties Include:
Design, implement, and maintain data models that support business intelligence solutions in Power BI. Write, optimize, and maintain advanced DAX calculations for performance and usability. Develop and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis. Partner with BI developers and business analysts to translate requirements into efficient data structures. Ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy across reporting layers. Collaborate on version control and deployment processes using GitHub and Visual Studio. Support integration with tools such as SQL Developer for database exploration and query performance tuning.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalency 4+ years of experience as a Data Modeler or Data Architect, using data modeling software Strong understanding of relational databases and data modeling best practices Experience building and optimizing tabular models
Preferred:
3+ years of experience with Power BI Proficiency in Visual Studio, MS SQL Server, SSMS Proficiency in Power BI, DAX, and SQL Familiarity with GitHub and Visual Studio for source control and solution management Experience with SQL Developer or other database tools Exposure to ETL processes and data warehouse Knowledge of working with
AI/Microsoft Co-pilot Skills:
