Focus:
Accounting Operations & Procore Integration The Mission At Hernandez Construction, "Execution Certainty" is our promise. For our Accounting Department, that means moving beyond retroactive reporting to predictive financial intelligence . We are seeking a Data Scientist to sit at the intersection of Project Management and Finance. You will be the architect of our financial data integrity, specifically tasked with optimizing the flow of information from Procore into our accounting ecosystem. Your goal is to ensure that every dollar in our $2B+ portfolio is tracked, forecasted, and protected through automated systems rather than manual entry. Key Responsibilities 1.
Procore & ERP Integration The Data Pipeline:
Own the technical relationship between Procore (Project Management) and our Accounting ERP. You will build and maintain the APIs and automations that ensure "one version of the truth" for project commitments, change orders, and job costing.
Anomaly Detection:
Develop automated "guardrails" that flag accounting discrepancies, budget overruns, or unusual vendor billing patterns before they impact the bottom line. 2.
Predictive Cost Modeling WIP Intelligence:
Transform the Work-in-Progress (WIP) report from a static document into a predictive tool. Use historical data from our 23-year track record to forecast "fade" or "gain" on active Class A industrial projects.
Cash Flow Orchestration:
Build models that predict capital call requirements and project cash flow needs based on real-time field data and construction velocity. 3.
AI-Native Financial Ops Automated Audit Trails:
Deploy LLMs and OCR tools to automate the processing of invoices, lien waivers, and insurance certificates, ensuring 100% compliance with zero manual data entry.
Custom Reporting Interfaces:
Move the accounting team out of static Excel sheets and into dynamic, interactive dashboards that provide "executive certainty" to our leadership and investors.
Qualifications The Technical Stack:
Advanced proficiency in Python (for data manipulation) and SQL . Deep experience with the Procore API is highly preferred.
Domain Expertise:
You understand the fundamentals of Construction Accounting (Job Costing, WIP, Percentage of Completion). You speak "Accountant" but think "Programmer."
Experience:
3-5 years in a Data Science or Business Intelligence role, ideally within the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) or Real Estate sectors.
The AI Instinct:
Like our Creative Orchestrators, you have the default instinct to automate. You don't just "do" accounting tasks; you write the code that ensures those tasks never have to be done manually again.
Problem Solver:
You are a "Builder" at heart. You see a broken data sync as a challenge to be solved with a permanent, scalable system. Why This Role? You won't be siloed in a traditional IT department. You will be a core part of the Hernandez Construction Accounting Team , directly influencing the financial health and "Execution Certainty" of one of South Florida's fastest-growing firms.
Pay:
$110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
