Share this job Data Modeler Sterling Heights, MI Apply for this job Data Infrastructure Engineer Position Overview The Data Infrastructure Engineer will support the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise data infrastructure supporting complex business and engineering operations. This role focuses on building scalable data pipelines, managing data accessibility, supporting analytics initiatives, and ensuring data integrity across large datasets and interconnected systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with enterprise data environments, analytics tools, cloud platforms, and cross-functional collaboration in fast-paced technical organizations. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain enterprise data infrastructure including databases, data warehouses, and data pipelines Collect and integrate data from multiple sources including databases, APIs, and enterprise systems Develop efficient data pipelines that transform raw data into dashboards, reports, and actionable insights Ensure data is stored securely, efficiently, and remains accessible for analysis and reporting Implement data validation and quality control processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability Optimize data pipelines and infrastructure for speed, scalability, and overall performance Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to support operational and analytical requirements Troubleshoot data infrastructure issues and perform ongoing system monitoring and maintenance Support configuration control, documentation, and change impact analysis for enterprise data architecture models Identify and manage Authoritative Sources of Truth (ASOT) databases and associated integrations Support data replication and transformation activities within Midas and AWS cloud environments through Power BI and related technologies Develop and document data models and process flows supporting current-state business operations Assist with requirements development for enterprise data collection and utilization strategies Translate complex data into meaningful recommendations and actionable business insights Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field Minimum 6 years of relevant experience Experience designing and supporting enterprise data infrastructure and data pipelines Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Knowledge of probability, statistics, applied mathematics, mathematical programming, network analysis, queuing theory, and economic evaluation Proficiency with: Power BI SQL Oracle

Redshift SSAS Visual Basic MS Excel MATLAB / Simulink Mathcad MagicDraw Midas Alation Dataiku Familiarity with Atlassian Jira and/or ServiceNow Experience with server usage, support, and troubleshooting Experience developing data models and process flows Ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments Ability to independently research, analyze, and develop solutions to complex problems Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently Working knowledge of technical standards, architectures, methodologies, and enterprise data concepts Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Business, Applied Sciences, Management Information Systems, or related discipline 10+ years of relevant experience Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies Experience supporting engineering organizations or development teams Knowledge of Agile methodologies and associated reporting metrics 1+ years of Scrum or Agile management experience Knowledge of technical systems and requirements related to combat vehicles Work Environment Collaborative technical environment supporting enterprise analytics and engineering operations Cross-functional interaction with engineering, analytics, IT, and operational teams Focus on enterprise-scale data accessibility, reporting, and digital transformation initiatives
