Job:
The Lillehei Heart Institute (LHI) at the University of Minnesota is dedicated to advancing cardiovascular research. This is a full-time role for a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Lillehei Heart Institute, located in Minneapolis, MN. The candidate will be supervised by the Principal Investigator, Dr. Lin Yee Chen. The candidate will conduct advanced cardiovascular research, design and optimize experimental protocols, analyze complex datasets, and contribute to scholarly publications. Emphasis is placed on artificial intelligence/machine learning approaches applied to digital data and multi-omics data. Additional responsibilities include mentoring students, collaborating with faculty, preparing research reports, and presenting findings at academic events.
Job Responsibilities:
70%: You will be responsible for implementing new projects and conducting data analyses. From these projects, you will be expected to prepare manuscripts for submission to scientific journals and present at national/international scientific meetings. 15%: You will be expected to collaborate with other team members working with Dr. Chen in regard to other projects. 15%: You will also be expected to assist with research grant submissions. Detailed documentation of analytical procedures and data is expected. You are expected to participate in lab/project meetings. Specifically, on a regular basis, you will be required to present independent review of relevant scientific literature for ongoing projects, data analysis results, and discussions of possible new approaches with team members and the Principal Investigator.
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields is desirable
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in artificial intelligence/machine learning approaches applied to digital data and multi-omics data Experience in multi-omics analysis Experience using
R or Python Pay and Benefits Pay Range:
