Expected Length of Internship:

3-month internship or longer. As an internship company, we allow flexibility to enroll in classes while working as an intern, if it doesn't interfere with the essential functions of the position.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain, Applied Statistics, Computer Science preferred. First Solar encourages all interns to register their internship with their university.

Required Skills/Competencies:

Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and advanced analytics tools. Working knowledge of AI and Generative AI concepts, including LLMs, embeddings, prompt design, and retrieval ‑ augmented generation (RAG) for analytical and decision ‑ support use cases Strong experience with data visualization and storytelling tools. Working knowledge of machine learning, statistical modeling and optimization techniques. Familiarity with Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies. Comfort working in cloud and enterprise data environments (e.g., Azure, data warehouses, APIs, ERP/SCM systems). Basic Internship Scope (Project): Develop and deploy analytical, optimization, and machine ‑ learning models to support supply chain planning, execution, and optimization. Apply AI and LLM ‑ enabled techniques to accelerate insight generation, scenario analysis, and decision support Quantify performance gaps and improvement opportunities. Automate data ingestion, transformation, analysis, and reporting from enterprise systems Translate analytical outputs into executive-ready insights. Contribute to digital transformation and continuous improvement programs by embedding analytics and AI into day ‑ to ‑ day decision ‑ making. Upon the completion of this internship, the intern is required to present their accomplishments and project summary to the leadership team.

Estimated Salary Range:

$18.00-$30.00 hourly.
