Advanced Data Scientist
FULLY REMOTE
Negotiable Rate + Market 6 + month contract to (hire + multi-extension capability) A leading global platform is seeking an Advanced Data Scientist to support product and business decision-making for our Host App teams. In this role, you will act as a senior analytics partner, delivering high-impact analysis, experimentation, and reporting to inform product strategy and execution. This is a hands-on, execution-focused contract designed to accelerate progress on critical analytics needs during a period of constrained capacity. You will be expected to operate independently, partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders, and deliver high-quality outputs on defined timelines.
What You'll Do Drive Product Insights:
Own and deliver advanced analytics for defined product and business domains within the Host App ecosystem.
Analyze Complex Data:
Work with large, complex datasets to answer high-priority business and product questions using statistical, causal, and exploratory techniques.
Experimentation & Testing:
Design, execute, and analyze experiments (A/B tests and quasi-experiments) to measure feature impact and inform product iteration.
Metric Development:
Develop and validate metrics and dimensions to monitor product performance and business outcomes.
Build Analytical Artifacts:
Create and maintain queries, dashboards, and readouts that enable stakeholders to make data-driven decisions.
Cross-Functional Partnership:
Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, Data Science, and Analytics teams to align on methodology, assumptions, and interpretation.
Strategic Communication:
Provide clear, concise insights and recommendations through written and verbal communication, including leadership-ready readouts.
Leverage Modern Workflows:
Utilize AI-assisted tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to increase efficiency and automate repetitive analytical tasks where appropriate.
What We're Looking For Experience:
5+ years of experience in advanced analytics, data science, or applied quantitative analysis (industry experience required).
Technical Skills:
Strong hands-on expertise in SQL and at least one programming language (Python or R).
Testing Expertise:
Proven experience designing and analyzing A/B experiments and applying statistical methods to real-world product problems.
Data Pipeline Familiarity:
Experience building metrics end-to-end, including definitions, validation, and implementation in data pipelines.
Analytical Judgment:
Ability to balance rigor with speed and clearly communicate technical tradeoffs.
Autonomy:
Demonstrated ability to operate independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver against agreed timelines.
Communication:
Strong stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into actionable insights for non-technical partners.
Preferred Context:
Experience in two-sided marketplaces, product analytics, or business strategy contexts is strongly preferred. Familiarity with AI-assisted analytics workflows is a plus. #IND
