Our mission is to deliver an exceptional insurance experience through innovative technology, unparalleled customer service, and a comprehensive suite of products. Our vision is to be the premier global provider of insurance solutions and redefine the insurance industry. Orion180 is proud to call three vibrant cities home. Our headquarters on Florida's stunning Space Coast in Melbourne offers an exceptional quality of life, with affordable housing, excellent transportation, and close proximity to major cities like Orlando, Tampa, and Miami. Our Irving, Texas, office places us in a dynamic center of culture, business, and entertainment, keeping us closely connected to innovation and growth. Our Draper, Utah, location, nestled in the heart of the Salt Lake Valley, connects us to a rapidly growing tech ecosystem and provides access to the outdoor lifestyle and natural beauty the region is known for. Are you a data architecture professional who is passionate about building the trusted foundation that powers enterprise analytics? Orion180 is seeking a Semantic Model Manager to own the suite of semantic models that drive analytics across underwriting, claims, finance, sales, and executive reporting. You will be the steward of our single source of truth, ensuring that the right data is available in the right dimensions to power every aspect of Orion180's business. At Orion180, we expect our analytics team to go beyond maintenance and serve as architectural partners to the business. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong intellectual curiosity and ownership by proactively understanding not just how a model performs today, but why it is structured as it is and how it must evolve to meet tomorrow's analytical demands. This role requires a self-starter who is comfortable operating with ambiguity, asks thoughtful and targeted questions, and translates loosely defined business needs into durable, well-governed data structures. Success in this role depends on the ability to balance performance, stability, and flexibility while working hand-in-hand with Analysts and Data Scientists. We are looking for someone who not only maintains models, but shapes how the entire organization consumes and trusts its data.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Semantic Model Ownership & Architecture Own the design, structure, and full lifecycle of the semantic models that power Orion180's analytics across underwriting, claims, finance, sales, and executive reporting. Architect dimensional models (facts, dimensions, hierarchies, and relationships) that deliver the right data in the right grain for every business domain. Drive the evolution of the model portfolio, including decomposition into certified core and satellite models to balance reuse, performance, and domain ownership. Performance, Stability & Governance Monitor, diagnose, and optimize model performance, resolving problematic relationships, calculation bottlenecks, and refresh stability issues before they reach the business. Establish and enforce governance standards (naming conventions, certified datasets, documentation, and data lineage) to maintain a trusted single source of truth. Define and steward the metric and measure library, ensuring consistent, validated business logic across every reporting surface. Enablement & Collaboration Partner hand-in-hand with Analysts and Data Scientists to ensure the data they need is modeled, accessible, and dimensioned to power their analyses and machine learning workflows. Translate evolving business questions into model enhancements, proactively anticipating the dimensions and measures the business will need next. Document model architecture and design decisions, and mentor analysts on best practices for consuming the semantic layer.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Statistics, or a related field (Master's preferred).
Experience:
Proven experience owning or developing enterprise semantic models and governed metric layers within the insurance or financial services industry. Demonstrated experience owning models at enterprise scale—including fact tables exceeding one billion rows—while sustaining query and refresh performance under concurrent, high-throughput workloads. Deep proficiency in dimensional modeling, SQL optimization, DAX (or equivalent semantic modeling languages), and data transformation tooling such as dbt. Hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Azure, Snowflake and Databricks, and BI platforms such as Power BI and Tableau. Strong understanding of model performance tuning, relationship and cardinality management, and data governance principles.
Skills & Attributes:
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and architectural-thinking skills. Strong communication and collaboration abilities across technical and non-technical teams. Ability to balance competing priorities and manage the evolution of shared data assets in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. We are especially interested in candidates who bring a forward-looking perspective to the semantic layer. This includes familiarity with semantic model decomposition and certified dataset strategies, automated documentation and lineage tooling, AI-assisted model analysis, and emerging approaches to scalable, self-service analytics across the enterprise.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
Join Our Team & Make an Impact! At Orion180, we don't just meet expectations—we exceed them. If you're ready to take ownership of the data foundation behind a growing, forward-thinking company, apply today!
Dynamic Environment:

Compensation:

Career Growth:

Benefits:
Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid holidays, PTO, and more. The office environment is fast-paced and collaborative. An employee must be willing and able to work their regularly assigned work schedule onsite, and in times of need, be able to work an extended schedule depending on company or departmental needs, project requirements, or customer demands.
