Position Summary:
CFT is seeking a Junior-Level Modeling and Simulations (M&S) Engineer to join our Mission Engineering team. You will support the design and execution of complex defense simulations that evaluate the performance of military systems in realistic operational scenarios. This role is vital in translating mission engineering data into interactive, decision-relevant insights for the warfighter.
Key Responsibilities:
Simulation Development:
Execute advanced models focusing on military communications, tactical networking systems, and multi-domain operations.
Digital Twin Engineering:
Develop and maintain high-fidelity digital twins of physical systems to predict performance and optimize lifecycle management.
AI Integration:
Support the development and deployment of human-collaborative AI systems, ensuring seamless interaction between warfighters and autonomous agents.
Mission Analysis:
Conduct operational analysis using a data-driven approach to identify measurable trade-offs and mission capability gaps.
Technical Skills M&S Frameworks:
Deep expertise in defense-standard modeling tools such as AFSIM, MATLAB/Simulink, or STK.
Digital Twins:
Proven experience creating digital twin architectures that integrate real-time data with predictive simulation models.
Human-AI Collaboration:
Functional understanding of "human collaborative AI" development, focusing on the deployment of AI-augmented decision support systems.
Software Environment:
Advanced proficiency in industry-standard development environments including PyCharm (Python), Codex, and version control systems (Git).
Mission Engineering:
Strong background in systems architecture, mission engineering, and data analysis for C4 systems.
Required Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
Clearance:
Must possess a minimum of a Secret security clearance and be clearable to Top Secret.
Experience:
Recent Graduate to 3 years of professional experience in systems engineering and M&S within the DoD or defense industry.
Work Style:
Ability to work full-time on-site in Newport News, Virginia, with limited telework opportunity.
