Senior Data Scientist National Capitol Contracting (NCC) - 3.3 Norfolk, VA Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Data visualization software proficiency Big data systems Secret Clearance Tableau SQL Bachelor's degree Master of Science Implementing machine learning algorithms Data analytics tools Cross-functional collaboration Project stakeholder communication Python Cross-functional communication Database software proficiency Full Job Description National Capitol Contracting is seeking Data Scientists of Junior, Senior and SME level with Palantir Foundry experience to support an upcoming contract with the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and the Shipboard Maintenance Performance Group (SMPG) and help bring cutting edge data analytics to the Navy Fleet Shipyards. Key Areas of Responsibility Assist in the stand-up (both technical and functional) of the Data Analytics Lab located at NAVSEA Naval Shipyards, recommend software/hardware analytics and data management toolsets, and recommend functional responsibilities for the other SMDAL staff members. Assist in the development of data procedures and policies, govern data assets, and improve the quality and access to data across the organization. Analyze and streamline the processes and technology for using data to manage ship maintenance operations, and draw valuable insights from data through data science and business intelligence. Assist in the implementation of industry best practices, selection of enabling tools and technologies, driving innovation, and contributing to new service offerings for our ship maintenance stakeholders. Assist in the development of policies and procedures to ensure corporate data systems information protection, data governance, data quality, and data life cycle management. Government Security Clearance Requirement Secret Clearance or higher. Minimum Requirements Hands-on experience working with Palantir Foundry. In lieu of Foundry experience, Qlik experience would be preferred. Experience building and leading data management and analytics projects and initiatives for Federal clients. Ability to concisely and convincingly communicate (both verbally and written) with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience using data for descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics. Knowledge of big data technology infrastructure and environments. Proficient in a broad range of data tools and technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL, SAP IQ, etc.), visualization/analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik, MicroStrategy, SAP Business Objects, etc.), as well as machine languages (e.g., Python, R/RStudio, Java, C#, SQL, etc.) Experience in developing machine learning models. Results-driven, creative, and analytical. Strong leadership and ability to work within cross-functional groups. Preferred Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Computational Science, or related field Masters of Science Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Computational Science or related field.
