Until Filled New Milford Public Schools is looking for an Excellent Accounting/ Data Specialist.

Job Goal:
The accounting/data specialist is responsible for collaborating the integrity and management of student data and assisting the accounting department in all accounting functions as well as the preparation of all state and federal financial and student reports.
Essential Functions:
Please see attached document for full position description. Collaborates in the integrity and management of student data by training school personnel and working closely with the technology and accounting departments. Assists the Accounting Department with, but not limited to, the following:
  • Preparation of supporting documentation for development of EFS and other local, state and federal reports.
  • Monthly bank reconciliations for district accounts and prepares accounts for Audit.
  • Prepares schedules for annual BOE audit as required.
  • Make recommendations as necessary to improve internal controls and procedures.
Completes Connecticut State Department of Education Management Reports Submits the PSIS student report Assists Central Office staff in supporting schools with student registrations. Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, and/or applied technology is preferred, but will consider relevant experience. Two years' experience in municipal field preferably with responsibilities related to database systems. Experience with computer database applications and Excel. One or more years' experience in data analysis strongly recommended. Ability to assist the accounting department. Partial List attached. Ability to work with other employees and the public.
