Job Description
Regional Water Resource Agency (RWRA) , the municipal wastewater (sewer) utility located in Owensboro, KY, is accepting resumes for the position of Engineering Aide . The individual in this position will perform office and clerical work of various difficulty and responsibility, involving complex clerical tasks and interaction with the general public. This individual prepares and enters data into the asset management system. This position requires independent judgment and action but generally makes decisions within established precedents and departmental policy.
Essential Job Duties:
- Enters data, including but not limited to spreadsheet, word processing, database, asset management system, and computer mapping data, as well as gathers and interprets information from various sources for development of asset management system
- Provides customer service for billing-related issues; accepts applications, as well as researches, processes and maintains sewer bill adjustment records and sewer bill exemption records
- Responsible for the physical inventory of all documents retained in the file room; keeps maps, plans, and the filing systems up to date; digitizes maps and plans, including large format documents
- Answers telephone and records messages, greets visitors, opens and distributes mail, fills in for Agency office staff in their absence
- Receives and processes complaints and requests from public
- Serves as contact for RWRA inspectors and surveyors for utility locate requests; dispatches RWRA personnel as needed
Job Preferences and Requirements:
- Position requires high school diploma or GED; associate's degree in office/computer technology is preferred
- Minimum of one to two years of related work experience is required
Job Specifics:
- Full-time, non-exempt position
- Beginning pay range: $24.33/hour to $29.51/hour
