Job Description

The Team We are seeking a Senior Database Engineer to join American Tower's Information Technology team. The IT team delivers quality software solutions that provide measurable business value. Day to day you will lead all aspects of the design, development, and delivery of database, business intelligence, data warehouse, and data integration solutions. As a Senior Database Engineer, you will partner cross-functionally to provide technical knowledge and leadership guidance during design, development, and delivery to ensure solid, scalable, robust solutions. What You Need to Succeed Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with six years of related experience, or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field with at least 4 years of related experience. A minimum of 6 years of experience with relational databases, ETL, and data warehouse. Experience with one or more of the following required: Proficient with SQL and PL/SQL programming language. Extensive experience with data warehouse architecture, data modeling, design, implementation, and concepts. Experience with Oracle databases and greater and SQL Developer; Proficient in designing and developing complex near real-time and/or batch data integration solutions using ODI Studio. Proficient in managing, administering, and modeling using Topology and ODI models. Experience with security and permissions within ODI; OAS repository development experience or equivalent Enterprise BI tool metadata development experience; and/or Experience developing data services within a SOAP, HTTPS, FTP, or SMTP framework. Approximately 10% travel may be required in support of the position's responsibilities. Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively. Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results. Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment. What You Can Offer Us Discuss with business users what their requirements and priorities are and propose solutions that meet their needs. Review designs from the development teams and audit implementations to assure adherence to standards. Educate the organization on the newest technology advances and best practices, leveraging both to support business drivers. Lead technical teams in designing and developing data solutions. Perform data modeling and design and develop data solutions, including relational and analytical models on OLTP and OLAP systems Audit and review performance metrics for new and existing data integration solutions and database queries to ensure both adherence to service level agreements and system health. Perform ETL designs required for batch processing, including nightly and near-real-time data processing. Perform BI designs, including online analytical processing, standard reporting, ad hoc querying, etc. Other duties as assigned.
