Job Description

Allegany Co-op Insurance Company is the emblem of stability, security, and integrity and has been serving the Property & Casualty insurance needs of our policyholders since 1887. Allegany Insurance Group is rated "A-" by A.M. Best. The Data Reporting Specialist is responsible for fulfilling internal and external data requests by extracting, validating, and presenting data in a clear and organized manner. This role is a dedicated reporting and data delivery position focused on accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of data outputs that support operational, regulatory, and strategic decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Fulfill data requests for internal departments and approved external parties in an accurate, secure, and well-organized manner. Query and extract data from multiple databases and data sources while maintaining data integrity. Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards for recurring and ad-hoc reporting needs. Proactive management of recurring data outputs. Validate, reconcile, and review data prior to distribution to ensure accuracy and completeness. Translate business questions into meaningful data outputs, summaries, and visualizations that will be presented to necessary parties. Maintain documentation for data sources, report logic, and recurring reporting processes. Ensure appropriate data governance, confidentiality, and security requirements are followed when handling data. Coordinate with Information Systems and business units to clarify requirements and improve reporting workflows. Research, evaluate, and responsibly incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) and automation capabilities to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of data reporting and delivery processes, while adhering to organizational data governance, security, and compliance requirements. Assist with improvements to reporting standards and automation efforts. Participate in report testing or validation following system or data changes. Remain current with data analytics and reporting best practices. Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics, Business, Information Systems, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience. Prior experience in as a Reporting Specialist or similar role preferred. Experience working with sensitive or regulated data environments is a plus. Must be highly organized with strong attention to detail. Strong database knowledge, including querying and data manipulation. Proficiency with Power BI for report and dashboard development. Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications including Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive. Ability to manage multiple requests and deadlines independently. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Salary:
BOE - $65,000-$85,000 Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
