Data Integration Specialist Location Los Angeles, CA 90028 Date Posted May 15, 2026 Job ID 14590 Employment Type Contract Pay rate $57/hour Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced Data Integration Specialist for our client, a catalyst for the broader "Data for Good" movement! This is a 100% remote contract position.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Play a critical role in consolidating data across multiple higher education systems to support a major university initiative. Utilize your expertise in data schemas, especially within the Ellucian Ethos ecosystem, to map, transform, and validate data to ensure accuracy and consistency. Contribute to a forward-thinking project within the higher education landscape, collaborate with a dynamic team, and gain valuable project experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform comprehensive data mapping and execute required transformations to develop a unified data model for a higher education product. Work extensively with Ellucian Ethos schemas and databases, including Banner, Colleague, and DegreeWorks. Review, prioritize, and analyze data columns from various ed-tech systems such as SIS and LMS (including Anthology Student and Canvas) for inclusion in the integrated data model. Evaluate and validate data mappings and transformations to ensure data integrity and accuracy. Contribute to complex data transformation processes, including conflict resolution, data remediation, and business rule applications. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand data needs and ensure the final model meets operational requirements. Support data quality assurance efforts using tools like dbt and Great Expectations; proficiency in Python and SQL is a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS
Direct experience working with Ellucian Ethos schemas and databases. Familiarity with Higher Education data, including student information systems (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and related ed-tech platforms. Proven ability to review and prioritize data columns across multiple systems for integration. Strong understanding of data transformations, conflict resolution, and data integrity validation. Experience with complex data transformation tools such as dbt and data validation frameworks like Great Expectations; at minimum, knowledge of SQL and Python. Prior experience in higher education data environments or data integration firms is highly desirable.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This contract position offers an hourly rate up to $57/hr, commensurate with experience. The organization provides a robust benefits package that includes comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
