Item Master Data Specialist

The Item Master Data Specialist is responsible for handling the purchases of goods and services, including managing vendor relationships and processing payments. Key responsibilities include product/service sourcing, supplier selection, pricing/terms negotiation, order processing, contract administration, and supplier performance management and reporting of data to internal and external customers based on active contracts for the Health System. Assist in coordinating the collection, maintenance, analysis, and distribution of contract information used in order placement and reporting. Assist in data entry and ensure data accuracy in order to meet established deadlines and goals. Compares PeopleSoft and NuVia contract information and maintains data files contained therein. Work closely with internal staff and vendors in analyzing and resolving data accuracy issues in order to maintain data integrity. Back-up to review and approve NuVia recommendations to PeopleSoft interface. Assist in uploading contract GHX templates into GHX Contract Center. Compare contract GHX templates to current PS Item Master to ensure all information is updated accordingly. Once completed, any and all additional information or issues will need to be addressed. Assist in maintaining statistics and conducting market research. Track progress against planned goals and requirements of the contracts. Use data to make recommendations for greater impact and organizational efficiency. Participates as a team member and is accountable for own work responsibilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive desktop computers. The starting base rate for this role is $24.50 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
