Commissioning Manager Summary :
The Data Center Commissioning Agent is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the commissioning process for mission‑critical data center infrastructure. This role ensures that all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, and life‑safety systems are installed, tested, and perform according to design intent. The Commissioning Agent works closely with design teams, contractors, vendors, and owner representatives to deliver reliable, resilient data center environments that meet uptime, safety, and performance requirements. Key Responsibilities Commissioning Planning & Coordination Develop and maintain comprehensive commissioning plans, schedules, and protocols for data center Review design documents, submittals, and equipment specifications to ensure alignment with commissioning requirements. Coordinate commissioning activities with construction teams, vendors, and facility Testing & Verification Lead and execute commissioning of MEP, HVAC, electrical distribution, UPS systems, generators, BMS/EPMS controls, and fire/life‑safety systems. Prepare and perform functional performance testing (FPT), integrated systems testing (IST), and acceptance testing. Verify system performance under various load and failure scenarios, including redundancy and failover Documentation & Reporting Develop commissioning scripts, checklists, and detailed test Document deficiencies, track corrective actions, and verify Produce comprehensive commissioning reports summarizing testing procedures, findings, and Quality Assurance & Compliance Ensure installations comply with project requirements, industry standards, and applicable codes (ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA, IEEE). Identify system issues related to design, installation, or performance and work with stakeholders to resolve Support continuous improvement of commissioning processes and Project Support & Handover Participate in design reviews, factory witness tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and integrated systems commissioning (Level 1-5). Provide operational training to facilities teams and assist with turnover Support post‑commissioning site optimization and troubleshooting asQualifications:
Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline (preferred). 3-10+ years of experience in data center, mission‑critical facility, or industrial system Experience with large-scale MEP and power systems (UPS, switchgear, generators, cooling systems, CRAC/CRAH units). Certifications (Preferred) Certified Commissioning Professional (CxA / BCxP / CCP / CPMP) Data center-related certifications (Uptime, BICSI, DCPro,)OSHA 10/30
Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of mission‑critical MEP systems and redundancy Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and systems-thinking Strong communication and stakeholder coordination Ability to travel to job sites asPhysical Demands:
Ability to continuously sit, stand or Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs and lift Ability to lift up to 20 pounds Work environment: Work is performed on active construction sites and operational data May require lifting equipment, navigating mechanical spaces, and working around high‑voltage Must adhere to strict safety protocols andPPE AA/EOE.
