3-Month W2 Contract initially About Us We are seeking an experienced Data Center / Server Support Specialist IV to support enterprise server infrastructure and data center operations in a fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for server hardware installation, troubleshooting, operating system configuration, rack & stack activities, and overall data center support. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with enterprise server hardware, Windows Server environments, and infrastructure troubleshooting. Position Summary The Data Center / Server Support Specialist IV will perform general server administration tasks, hardware diagnostics, OS installations/configurations, and data center support activities. This position requires strong technical troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines while maintaining strict inventory and safety procedures. Key Responsibilities Perform server installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities. Rack, stack, cable, and decommission enterprise server hardware. Install and configure Windows Server operating systems and related components. Troubleshoot server hardware, storage, networking, and operating system issues. Configure and manage RAID arrays, logical drives, and storage connectivity. Support SAN connectivity, MPIO configurations, and disk management activities. Configure and troubleshoot iLO and iDRAC management interfaces. Maintain organized cable management and data center cleanliness standards. Document all work performed, troubleshooting steps, and configuration changes thoroughly. Support inventory management and adherence to data center safety procedures. Work collaboratively with infrastructure and engineering teams to resolve issues efficiently. Utilize pallet jacks, lifts, and proper safety procedures when handling equipment.Basic / Required
Qualifications Minimum 5 years of direct IT industry experience. 3-5+ years of hands-on experience supporting servers and/or data center hardware. Strong understanding of server hardware installation, diagnostics, and troubleshooting. Experience with networking fundamentals, switches, routers, NIC configuration, and related infrastructure components. Proven ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues in enterprise environments. Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to follow detailed written instructions and technical procedures. Experience maintaining detailed technical documentation and troubleshooting notes.Ability to safely lift:
1U/2U rack-mounted servers up to 35 lbs independently Up to 80 lbs with team/server lift assistance Desired / Preferred Qualifications Windows Server & Infrastructure Intermediate experience with Windows Server 2022 installation and configuration, including: Server roles and features Disk Management User administration OS troubleshooting and build validation SAN drive configuration and MPIO Network management Server Hardware Experience Hands-on experience with:HPE DL360/DL380
Gen8, Gen9, Gen10, and Gen11 serversHPE BL460
Gen8, Gen9, and Gen10 blade servers Dell PowerEdge R660 and R760 serversHPE C7000
enclosures and Onboard Administrator Additional Technical Experience RAID configuration and logical drive managementTroubleshooting:
