Position Summary:
Sr. Data Center Engineer responsible for broad data center operations from physical and environmental perspectives. This includes the physical security (facility, access control, monitoring system), environmental (Diesel Gen, ATS, UPS, PDUs, CRACs, and safety systems), space management (racking and stacking, heat distribution), and planning. Geo-Salary Information An in-person interview may be required during the hiring process State specific pay scales for this role are as follows: $94,458 to $179,048 (CA, NJ, NY, WA, HI, AK, MD, CT, RI, MA) $85,871 to $162,771 (NV, OR, AZ, CO, WY, TX, ND, MN, MO, IL, WI, FL, GA, MI, OH, VA, PA, DE, VT, NH, ME) $77,283 to $146,494 (UT, ID, MT, NM, SD, NE, KS, OK, IA, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, IN, SC, NC, WV) The expected base salary for this position will vary depending on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills and location.Responsibilities Essential Job Functions:
Environmental management & maintenance: a) monitor and respond to DC environmentals, security and other alerts. b) Peform periodical test and maintenance upkeep activities based on best practice and manufacturer recommendations, c) plan, schedule, coordinate and perform timely part repair and compoments replacement (e.g., battery) Manage performance of data center facility. Provide long term DC planning for major equipment replacement, technology upgrade, and capacity (space, power and cooling etc) expansion. Respond to technology transformation in density, cabling. Work with management to build & execute budget accordingly. Establish and enforce Data Center operating procedures. Perform day to day operations such as: Rack & stack, cabling, physical inventory, security monitoring. Collaborate with other IT teams for DC activities according to established operating procedures. Manage vendor relationships, maintenance contracts and vendor engagements. Regular attendance at work on a full-time schedule of at least 8 hours and 40 hours per week Other functions may be assignedQualifications Education:

BA or equivalent relevant industrial experience is data center management fieldsPreferred:
Master's Degree in Computer Science.Experience:

5+ years of experience with people and process management in a data center environmentPreferred:
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of industry data center standards, policies & methodologies Basic familiarity of Ashrae guidelines for data centers Passion for customer success and experience interacting with other technology teams Experience providing detailed reports related to incidence and SLA's Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize data effectively Ability to create and manage detailed schematics and data center design documentation About the Company Why choose a career at Mercury?
