About the
Role:
Join our CBRE team supporting Nvidia's world class Santa Clara multi-building campus, where your mechanical expertise keeps cutting edge innovation moving in their Super Labs! We're seeking an Assistant Building Engineer with strong commercial chiller experience to maintain and repair complex HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety, and control systems across the site. In this role, you'll drive energy efficiency, support preventive maintenance programs, and respond to critical repairs that keep the campus running safely and smoothly. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.
What You'll Do:
Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair on mechanical, electrical, and other building systems. Monitor chiller plant operations including chiller plant sequences, control actuators and pump VDF controls from BMS, cooling towers operations, heat exchangers, CDU/CDA systems, FLS panels, sprinkler and pre-action, and electrical systems for labs and offices. Conduct routine maintenance inspections, diagnose potential problems, and make repairs. Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment and systems. Assign work orders and estimate the time and materials needed to complete repairs. Support energy management by ensuring all building systems are operating efficiently. Inspect new installations for compliance with building codes and safety regulations. Have some knowledge of standard principles with limited practical experience in applying them. What You'll Need:
High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 2-3 years of job-related experience supporting data centers or plant operations. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Universal CFC certification is required. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions. Valid driver's license required. Experience with Chiller Plant operations, electrical systems for office and lab, cooling tower operations, and other HVAC systems required. Working knowledge of the site's electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems. Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more. Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems. Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
