Job Description

Data Center Technician (L4 - Network Deployment Focus) Santa Clara, CA (On-site) Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Center Technician with a strong background in network upgrades, structured cabling, and infrastructure deployment . This is not a break/fix role — this position is dedicated to a large-scale network upgrade project , supporting critical data center infrastructure. This role is ideal for technicians looking to step into leadership , with a clear path to Team Lead by January 2027 . What You'll Work On You'll support a variety of data center initiatives, including: Device staging and installation Structured cabling (installation + replacement) Decommissioning legacy equipment Link validation & connectivity testing Cleanup, documentation, and reporting Key Responsibilities Perform rack & stack installations of network and server hardware Execute IDF builds and network deployment activities Install, route, label, and test fiber, copper, power, and optical cabling Support network upgrades and troubleshoot connectivity issues Safely decommission equipment and cabling Conduct physical audits of data center assets Manage tasks through a ticketing system (updates, tracking, documentation) Perform quality control (QC) checks on cabling and labeling standards Stage, move, and prepare hardware for deployment Handle RMA processes and component replacements Perform basic validation and configuration tasks via chassis managers Scope, test, and troubleshoot power and network connections Required Qualifications Experience in an enterprise data center environment Strong hands-on experience with: Structured cabling Rack & stack / deployment Hardware installation Familiarity with network troubleshooting and infrastructure upgrades Experience using ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.) Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Preferred Skills Experience leading small projects or mentoring junior technicians Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Solid organizational and documentation skills What We're Looking For Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams Proactive problem-solving mindset Emerging leadership and project ownership ability Motivated, coachable, and reliable Quick learner with a strong work ethic Important Note This role is deployment and upgrade-focused .

Network deployments Infrastructure upgrades Cabling and buildouts This is NOT a break/fix role Growth Opportunity This role is designed for long-term development into leadership: Start as a high-impact individual contributor Receive mentorship from an experienced Team Lead Gradually take on ownership and leadership responsibilities Transition into a Team Lead role by January 2027 Work Environment Data center environment

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $38.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
