Contract | Data Center Support / Operations Engineer | Santa Clara, CA (Onsite) Data Center Support /Operations Engineer Location:
Santa Clara, CA (Onsite 5 Days/Week)Shift:
PST Hours | Evening Shift Availability Required Contract Opportunity We are seeking experienced Data Center Support / Operations Engineers with strong hands-on expertise in datacenter infrastructure, hardware installations, racking/cabling, and operational support.Key Responsibilities:
Perform installation and deployment of compute, storage, networking equipment, racks, PDUs, and structured cabling Execute server racking, stacking, and cabling activities in production datacenter environments Monitor infrastructure proactively to prevent outages and service degradation Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity, and physical infrastructure issues Coordinate with cross-functional operations teams and remote hands support teams Maintain accurate datacenter documentation, asset inventory, and operational records Handle shipping/receiving activities, RMAs, and spare inventory management Work on assigned tickets/tasks within SLA timelines Follow change management and operational best practices Participate in after-hours maintenance and change windows when required Ensure datacenter cleanliness, organization, and operational excellenceRequired Skills:
Strong hands-on experience with datacenter operations and infrastructure support Expertise in server racking, stack cabling, and physical installations Good understanding of SFP modules, fiber/copper cable types, and connectivity standards Experience with compute, storage, networking hardware, PDUs, and structured cabling Ability to troubleshoot physical layer and hardware-related issues Familiarity with asset tracking, ticketing systems, and documentation processes Strong communication and coordination skillsPreferred:
Prior experience working in large-scale datacenter or cloud infrastructure environments Ability to work evening/night PST shifts and support extended hours when requiredSimilar remote jobs
