Job Summary Job Summary The job of Database Systems Analyst" provides skilled systems analysis and programming, and works with considerable independence on fairly complex systems and programs. Performs, plans, organizes, and supervises a variety of highly skilled and specialized work of a technical and analytical nature related to database and system functions; performs technical tasks in implementation, development, and maintenance of the District's databases, backups, networks, and software applications; assists and provides information to District employees relative to database matters and end-user support. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
An Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or closely related field, Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Information System preferred. Coursework in programming languages which includes, but not excluded to Microsoft SQL and SQL Server, HTML, JavaScript, Python and C languages also preferred. Valid driver's license and evidence of insurability, TB test clearance, criminal justice fingerprint clearance.
Experience Required:
Two (2) years of recent experience in programming and systems analysis and design, including two years of recent experience in database management and programming. A Bachelor's degree may be substituted for the two (2) years of experience.
Skills:
Design solutions for application problems and malfunctions. Establish priorities for enhancements and modifications of assigned applications, databases and software. Manage and maintain databases. Learn computer hardware systems, software applications and languages utilized by the industry and organization. Apply principles and techniques of computer programming to specific problems. Explain complex technical issues to non-technical staff. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
