Data Center Specialist

Duties Manage and monitor data center hardware, including servers, storage systems, and networking equipment to ensure seamless operation. Implement and maintain virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V to optimize resource utilization. Support cloud services integration with platforms like AWS and Azure, ensuring secure and efficient connectivity. Configure and troubleshoot operating systems including Windows, Linux, and UNIX environments to resolve technical issues swiftly. Develop scripts using Bash, Python, Shell Scripting, or SQL to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency. Maintain system security by managing VPNs, firewalls, APIs, and applying best practices for data protection. Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies to support software development life cycle (SDLC) projects involving DevOps practices. Perform regular system updates, patches, backups, and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard data integrity. Monitor system performance metrics; analyze logs; troubleshoot hardware/software failures promptly. Document procedures, configurations, and incident reports meticulously for compliance and knowledge sharing. Requirements Proven experience managing IT infrastructure within a data center environment. Strong knowledge of VMware virtualization technologies along with experience in operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux, and UNIX. Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS and Azure; understanding of cloud architecture is highly desirable. Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash (Unix shell), Shell Scripting, or SQL for automation tasks. Hands-on experience with DevOps tools and practices; familiarity with APIs for system integration is a plus. Understanding of network security protocols including VPNs; ability to configure firewalls and manage secure access points. Knowledge of SDLC processes; experience working within Agile teams on IT projects involving Java or other programming languages is advantageous. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues quickly and effectively.
