Job Description
Description We are looking for a skilled Database Administrator to join our team in Johns Creek, Georgia. This is a Contract to permanent position where you will play a pivotal role in managing, optimizing, and securing our database systems. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of critical data processes, supporting both performance and data integrity.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks to ensure optimal operation.
- Manage user and application permissions, implementing access controls and maintaining encryption across clustered environments.
- Optimize database configurations, queries, and stored procedures to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to address technical challenges and support database-related initiatives.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive backup and disaster recovery strategies, including regular testing of restore processes.
- Implement database replication across multiple servers to ensure data availability and consistency.
- Conduct database normalization and leverage foreign keys, indexes, and other techniques to enhance data integrity.
- Provide guidance and training on database best practices and emerging technologies.
- Sanitize sensitive data in non-production environments to minimize exposure and ensure compliance with data protection standards. Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Database.
- Strong understanding of database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Experience with database backup, recovery, and replication strategies.
- Familiarity with MySQL and other database technologies.
- Knowledge of clustering, load balancing, and database tuning methods.
- Ability to implement robust access controls and encryption practices.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
