Overview:

V2X GTS has a requirement for a Database Administrator in support of the Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP) in Fort Leavenworth, KS. The Database Administrator ensures database system availability and support during the planning, development, and execution phases of Constructive simulation training activities and scenarios under the MCTSP and reports directly to the V2X-GTS Site Lead. The successful candidate must be a United States citizen, with proof of citizenship and a Secret clearance. Standard work week is five (5) days per week for up to eight (8) hours per day.

Description:

Ensures effective & efficient Simulation Database administration and management on supported systems (WARSIM, etc.). Responsible for ensuring database system support for the planning, development, and execution phases of Constructive simulation training activities and scenarios. Develops, manages, and maintains the simulation databases, to include associated system terrain files. Maintains familiarity with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DoD Cybersecurity standards to support both current and future technical upgrades. Capable of working with other teams to develop recommendations for solutions to complex technical challenges. Familiar with distributed computing environments and military simulations. Familiar with Army Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS). Assists with installation, maintenance and troubleshooting support of information systems applications and related peripheral hardware. Safeguard and maintain property, materials, and facilities. Ensures that standards, specifications, practices, and quality for all products and services are maintained at the acceptable levels required in the contract. Ensures that Quality Control standards are observed and followed. Provides customer assistance and advice in a proficient and professional manner. Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information to a diverse group of customers. Other duties as directed by the V2X Site Lead.

Working Environment:

• Applicant may be required to travel and will be required to work in compliance with OSHA and V2X Safety policies and procedures.
• Must have a SECRET Clearance.

Physical Activities:

• Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and ladder.
• Must be able to stoop, bend, and crawl on top or under training/simulation devices.
• Must be able to detect odors or hear noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect problems or flaws in the surrounding environment.
• Walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to 8-hours/day & sit for up to 3 hours/day; climb/descend stairs; grasp or handle objects; use finger dexterity; bend elbows/knees; reach above/below shoulders; read/interpret typewritten print; communicate by voice & detect sound by ear.

Education /

Certifications:

One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

• At least 3 to 5 years demonstrated database administrative experience, with Technical Training, Certification, or a related Degree.
• IA Level II certification.

Experience:

• Fundamentally computer literate to include (but not limited to) using a personal computer, perform word processing, perform database input, access electronic publications, access the world wide web, brief and debrief software, and fill out electronic forms and grade sheets.
• Ability to support periodic travel.

Skills & Technology Used:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Must be able to work overtime as required.
• TADSS, Computer & IT Fault and Troubleshooting Skills.
