Based on Central Administration observed holidaysQUALIFICATIONS
Experience in School and Municipal Data Management (e.g. ASPEN, Munis, ReadySub, Clever, SIF) Knowledge of Massachusetts DESE reporting systems (e.g., SIMS, EPIMS, SCS, SSDR). Robust knowledge of databases, cloud technologies, and software applications. Experience managing and providing user support for Front-End database applications Knowledge and experience of implementing databases and data processing best practices Proficiency in using data languages such as SQL and Oracle to manage and export data Must be able to self-initiate and follow through on tasks while managing multiple priorities Strong communication and writing skills (in-person, phone, written, email, chat, etc.) Ability to work effectively with a team and within a diverse workforce. Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word etc.) and Google Suite tools Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degreeRESPONSIBILITIES
Provide Front-End data application support, and database administration, troubleshooting, providing support to end-users and ongoing maintenance for school software, including the district's student information system. Analyze and administer system upgrades, software patches, and security. Continuously monitor and analyze databases systems and while making recommendations and implementing process improvements, including customizing (including simple programming tasks) the student information system to meet the district's needs.. Coordinate and provide training for staff on district's Student Information System, related processes, state data collections, and select applications along with developing FAQs and documentation to minimize and resolve requests Process customized reports and data requests from end-users Liaison with vendors for integration of data systems; Resolve technical issues and bugs, while creating information pathways between systems to improve use of data (e.g. Parent Square, Transfinder, TeacherEase districtwide assessment systems etc.) Works with the Department of Education and other agencies to ensure the accurate exchange of student, staff, and program data and meet expected timelines (SIMS, EPIMS, SCS, SSDR etc.) Coordinate with school and district leaders, assisting with school year startup/closeout and maintenance processes (Student registration, Scheduling, Report cards, annual systems rollover). Export and Import data using various report writing and query languages Monitor and advise on Data Privacy and other regulatory requirements Monitor data infrastructure and respond to unplanned incidents Supervise and evaluate the Assistant Database Manager Conducting other administrative and staff duties as directed by the Director of Data & Strategy or as needed by the District.EVALUATION
