Scope:
Large-scale infrastructure refresh across multiple datacenters in Lee's Summit and Kansas City. The environment includes enterprise storage platforms such as Dell PowerMax, HPE 3PAR, NetApp, and Brocade Fibre Channel switching; however, this role is focused on hands-on datacenter support, rack-and-stack activities, cabling, equipment placement, labeling, inventory, and basic deployment assistance rather than storage engineering or advanced SAN administration. We are seeking two hands-on Data Center Technicians to support infrastructure refresh and deployment activities across multiple data center locations. This is a lower-level, field-focused role ideal for technicians with experience working in datacenter environments, installing hardware, managing cabling, following runbooks, and supporting engineers during equipment refresh, migration, and validation activities. Key Responsibilities Rack, stack, install, and remove servers, storage hardware, switches, and related datacenter equipment Perform structured cabling tasks, including copper, fiber, patching, cable routing, labeling, and basic cable management Support equipment moves, adds, changes, decommissions, and refresh activities across multiple datacenter locations Follow detailed runbooks, work instructions, diagrams, and deployment plans provided by engineering teams Assist with physical connectivity validation, power checks, port verification, and basic hardware status checks Maintain accurate inventory records, asset tags, labeling, rack elevations, and deployment documentation Escalate technical issues to storage, network, server, or infrastructure engineering teams as needed Collaborate with project teams, engineers, vendors, and onsite datacenter staff to complete scheduled refresh work Required Qualifications 1+ year of hands-on experience in a datacenter, lab, hardware deployment, or infrastructure support environment Experience with rack-and-stack activities, hardware installation, cabling, labeling, and basic datacenter procedures Ability to read and follow rack elevations, cabling diagrams, asset lists, deployment checklists, and technical runbooks Basic understanding of servers, storage devices, network switches, power connections, and datacenter physical infrastructure Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document asset, cable, port, and location information Ability to lift, move, and install datacenter equipment in accordance with site safety procedures Ability to work primarily on-site across the Kansas City / Lee's Summit datacenter locations Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting datacenter refresh, migration, or hardware deployment projects Familiarity with enterprise storage, server, or network hardware from vendors such as Dell, HPE, NetApp, Cisco, or Brocade Basic understanding of fiber cabling, patch panels, transceivers, and port labeling standards Experience using ticketing systems, asset management tools, or deployment tracking spreadsheets CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, or similar foundational technical certification
