Job Description

Data Center Cabling/Hardware Technician - Texas 5 Services. is a global provider of information technology solutions. We are currently looking for a Data Center Associate (Cabling/Hardware) to join our team
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
The DC Operations IT Hardware team is responsible for network cable installations and removals, space planning, cabinet/equipment installations rack and stack, smart hands hardware break/fix support and network cabling and fiber diagnostics. The candidate will be responsible for:
  • Day to day responsibility for all hardware deliverables to include hardware installs (rack/stack), network cabling and decommissioning.
  • Smart Hands work to include hardware (break/fix), troubleshooting connectivity issues and replacement of hardware components, installing cabinets and racks.
  • Inventory Management.
  • Other duties as directed to support the Data Center.
Shifts:
  • Full Time
  • Schedules may change as business dictates
Required Skills:
  • Knowledgeable of Data Center IT Operations and Infrastructure
  • Must be of physical condition to support this physically demanding position. (This is not a desk job, you must be able to lift 50 lbs. and spend the entire shift working on the raised floor)
  • Conduct clear and effective two-way communication, verbal and electronic, with team members and vendors as well as, internal and external customers.
  • Positive Attitude, flexible and team oriented
  • Solid time-management and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task
  • Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to pass a detailed background investigation.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience using change management and work order management software
  • Experience with copper and fiber structured cabling installation and troubleshooting
  • Server/Network training/certification (such as A+)
  • First-aid/CPR skills
Minimum Educational Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Associates degree in an engineering or information technology discipline preferred
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour
