Job Description

Data Center Technician We are currently seeking a skilled Data Center Technician to join our New York team for the afternoon thru evening shift (3pm-11pm). The ideal candidate will have a background in troubleshooting IT and a natural curiosity for learning to work with both legacy and emerging technologies. This position is ideal for someone who can work and think independently when needed. This is an entry level position, and you will need a few weeks of training 9 to 5 before beginning the afternoon shift. This is not a remote position, it's all on site. Primary Responsibilities Rack and stack servers and switches. Install and manage copper and fiber cross-connects. Troubleshoot hardware and software issues as part of remote hands support for customers. Update and manage tickets in the help desk system. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and system performance. Answer and manage NOC phone inquiries. Relevant Skills Proficiency in basic computer hardware, storage systems, and networking equipment. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with both team members and customers. Experience in responding to critical incidents, including infrastructure failures. Solid understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, cabling, and fiber optics. Hands-on experience with HVAC maintenance and managing HVAC failures. Knowledge of power systems, including electricity, UPS systems, generators, and PDU management for customers. Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO, HIPAA, and
SOC II. PLEASE NOTE
This job does include heavy lifting. We have a server lift and a mechanical lifter on site.
