Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join the Enterprise Infrastructure team at a prominent public sector agency. In this role, you will be responsible for the architecture, deployment, optimization, and continuous management of mission-critical database systems that support essential operations and public services. The ideal candidate possesses extensive hands-on expertise administering Oracle Exadata systems, implementing OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) solutions, and ensuring high availability and real-time data replication through RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate. Key Responsibilities 1.
High Availability & Disaster Recovery RAC Administration:
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot multi-node Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Automatic Storage Management (ASM) to ensure 24/7 service availability.
Data Guard Management:
Architect and manage physical/logical standby databases using Oracle Data Guard and Data Guard Broker for seamless failover and robust disaster recovery capabilities.
GoldenGate Replication:
Design, implement, and monitor complex data replication topologies using Oracle GoldenGate for real-time data integration, zero-downtime migrations, and active-active environments. 2.
Infrastructure & Cloud Operations Exadata Administration:
Manage large-scale Oracle Exadata Database Machines (On-Premises or Cloud@Customer), including compute nodes, storage cells, cell software upgrades, and Exadata-specific optimizations (Smart Scans, Hybrid Columnar Compression).
OCI Cloud Management:
Architect and migrate enterprise database workloads to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Oversee OCI database services, tenancy management, and cloud networking/security controls. 3.
Database Maintenance, Performance & Automation Performance Tuning:
Conduct deep-dive analysis and optimization of database instances and SQL statements using AWR, ASH, ADDM, and SQL Profiles to ensure optimal application performance.
Backup & Recovery:
Design and execute robust enterprise-level backup and recovery strategies utilizing RMAN and integrated backup appliances.
Automation:
Develop and maintain Shell (Korn/Bash), Python, or PL/SQL scripts to automate routine DBA operational tasks, space management, and health checks. 4.
Security & Compliance Database Security:
Implement robust security measures including Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), unified auditing, user access controls, and regular vulnerability remediation to meet stringent compliance and governance standards.
Patching:
Plan and execute regular database lifecycle management tasks, including Oracle Release Updates (RU), OPatch, and major version upgrades (e.g., upgrading to Oracle 19c/23c).
