- Job Description
- We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Center & Cloud Networking Engineer to join our team in a hybrid capacity (3 days onsite / 2 days remote) at Mount Sinai Health System.
This role requires a subject matter expert with deep expertise in modern data center architectures and cloud connectivity, responsible for designing, implementing, and operating scalable, secure, and high-performance hybrid network environments. The ideal candidate will lead initiatives across data center networking, VXLAN/EVPN fabrics, and cloud on-ramp solutions (e.g., Equinix, Azure, AWS, OCI) while ensuring operational excellence across the enterprise.
- Qualifications
- + Bachelors degree in a technical discipline; Masters degree preferred .
+ 8 years minimum experience (higher preferred), 12 years of related experience, including a demonstrated ability in technology area. In-depth knowledge of associated technology areas that could impact area of responsibility; healthcare technology experience preferred. + 10 - 15+ years of experience in enterprise networking, with strong focus on data center and cloud networking + Deep expertise with: + Cisco Nexus (NX-OS) platforms + VXLAN/EVPN architectures (design, deployment, troubleshooting) + Spine-leaf data center designs + Proven experience with cloud networking and private connectivity, including: + Azure ExpressRoute + AWS Direct Connect + OCI FastConnect + Equinix or similar cloud exchange/on-ramp solutions + Advanced knowledge of routing and switching protocols (BGP, multicast, STP, etc.) in large-scale environments + Strong experience designing and supporting hybrid and multi-cloud network architectures + Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex, cross-platform network issues

- + Cisco certifications such as
CCNP, CCIE
(Data Center or Enterprise), or equivalent + Experience with network automation tools (Python, Ansible, Terraform, Catalyst Center) + Exposure to security architectures (segmentation, zero trust, microsegmentation) + Experience in large-scale enterprise or healthcare environments

- Responsibilities
- + Lead the architecture, design, and deployment of next-generation data center networks based on Cisco Nexus (NX-OS), VXLAN/EVPN fabrics, and spine-leaf designs + Design and implement hybrid cloud connectivity solutions, including: + Azure ExpressRoute + AWS Direct Connect + OCI FastConnect + Colocation/on-ramp providers such as Equinix Fabric + Own and optimize Layer 2/Layer 3 protocols, including BGP (underlay/overlay), multicast, and advanced routing strategies + Serve as the SME for Nexus platforms, including Nexus 9K, Fabric Extenders (FEX), and data center switching architectures + Architect secure, resilient, and scalable connectivity between on-prem data centers, colocation sites, and public cloud environments + Develop and maintain network design documentation, diagrams, standards, and runbooks + Lead troubleshooting of complex, multi-domain network issues, including hybrid cloud and data center fabrics + Drive network automation and operational efficiency initiatives where applicable + Partner with cloud, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver integrated solutions + Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements aligned with business and architectural strategy + Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across the networking domain •About Us•Strength through Unity and Inclusion•The Mount Sinai Health System is committed to fostering an environment where everyone can contribute to excellence.

- Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.
The salary range for the role is $113011.58 - $202155 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
