Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Data Center Fiber Technician to perform structured fiber circuit audits within active data center environments. This is a hands-on role requiring strong fiber optics expertise, troubleshooting capabilities, and meticulous documentation skills. Candidates must have prior experience working in data centers or similar secure environments and be comfortable using customer-specific applications and testing equipment.
Key Qualifications:
3+ years of hands-on fiber optic cabling experience in data centers, network rooms, or similar facilities Experience with LC, MPO/MTP, and SC fiber connectors Experience performing fiber circuit audits, validations, and troubleshooting Proficiency with fiber cleaning, inspection, and testing procedures Experience using fiber inspection scopes, optical power meters, and light sources Ability to identify contamination versus physical fiber damage Familiarity with DMARC environments and fiber infrastructure Experience logging test results using mobile or web-based applications Knowledge of ESD requirements and site safety protocols OTDR testing experience and familiarity with Jira are preferred Experience in hyperscale or large-scale data center environments is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
Perform end-to-end fiber circuit audits across multiple DMARC locations Clean, inspect, and scope fiber end-faces using industry-standard methods Conduct optical power testing at 1310nm and 1550nm wavelengths Troubleshoot and resolve fiber contamination and connectivity issues Escalate unresolved circuit failures following established procedures Document test results and audit findings in customer-provided applications Scan and validate cable barcodes and confirm fiber polarity Maintain accurate records and complete all required documentation Follow all ESD, PPE, and site safety requirements Support operational excellence by ensuring first-time quality completion Broadstaff, LLC., provides equal employment opportunities to all qualified individuals without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, pregnancy, age, national origin, physical or mental disability, military or veteran status, genetic information, or any other protected classification protected by federal, state or local laws.
