Data Center Operations Technician - Level 3 (Server & Infrastructure Support)

Must be flexible; on‑call and maintenance windows required Overview We are looking for an experienced Data Center Operations Technician (Level 3) to support critical infrastructure and server hardware within a hyperscale data center environment . This role plays a vital part in maintaining high availability, security, and operational excellence across mission‑critical systems that support cloud services used by customers around the world. This is an excellent opportunity for hands‑on technicians who enjoy advanced troubleshooting, working with enterprise‑level hardware, and collaborating with cross‑functional engineering and network teams in a fast‑paced environment. What You'll Be Doing Perform advanced server diagnostics , break‑fix repairs, and component‑level replacements Install, configure, and decommission servers and network equipment according to strict operational standards Monitor and respond to hardware alerts, alarms, and operational events to maintain uptime Support network infrastructure through: Fiber and copper patching Connectivity and link testing Basic switch installations Conduct physical infrastructure inspections including racks, cabling, power, cooling, and airflow Track, audit, and manage inventory (servers, parts, tools, consumables) Follow strict data center security procedures , including badge access, visitor escorts, and audit compliance Document all work via ticketing systems, change records, and operational logs Collaborate with engineering, networking, and security teams on incident response, capacity planning, and root‑cause analysis Participate in on‑call rotations and assist during scheduled maintenance windows Required Skills & Experience Hands‑on experience working in: Data center operations Server hardware support Infrastructure or technical operations environments Strong knowledge of server architecture and component‑level repair Experience diagnosing hardware failures and driving issues to resolution Familiarity with data center environments and operational best practices Ability to work independently in a mission‑critical, fast‑paced setting Comfortable following SOPs, change management processes, and security requirements Top Skills Data Center Operations Server Hardware Support Additional Skills & Competencies (Highly Desired)Hardware Expertise:
OEM server platforms, diagnostics tools, and break‑fix workflowsNetworking Fundamentals:
TCP/IP basics, cabling standards, patching, link testing, and entry‑level switch configuration Troubleshooting & Root‑Cause Analysis:
Strong analytical approach to isolating and resolving issuesOperational Excellence:
Experience with ITIL concepts, ticketing systems, and incident/change managementPhysical Infrastructure Knowledge:
Racks, PDUs, UPS systems, cable management, airflow, and cooling conceptsSecurity & Compliance Awareness:
Access control, audits, and physical security standardsTools Proficiency:
KVMs, crash carts, cable testers, power measurement tools, and hardware diagnosticsSoft Skills:

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Hermiston, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
