Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a Cloud Operational DBA to manage and support database environments across AWS and on-prem platforms. This role focuses on ensuring high availability, performance optimization, and disaster recovery readiness while supporting development teams and maintaining reliable database operations. Key Responsibilities Administer and manage databases across AWS platforms including PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, MySQL, and Redshift. Ensure high availability and implement failover and disaster recovery solutions. Manage and support Oracle and SQL Server databases, including high availability configurations and recovery tools. Perform database performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization. Support database migration activities and platform upgrades. Collaborate with development teams to assist with query optimization and database design. Monitor systems and databases using scripts and monitoring tools. Administer Linux-based systems (e.g., RedHat, CentOS, Oracle Linux) supporting database environments. Maintain documentation and follow operational best practices for database management. Participate in production support and ensure system reliability. Required Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in database administration, data modeling, or related roles. AWS Cloud Practitioner certification. Experience administering AWS databases such as PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, MySQL, and Redshift. Experience implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions in AWS environments. Experience with Oracle and SQL Server, including high availability tools such as Oracle RAC and SQL Server Availability Groups. Experience with disaster recovery tools such as Oracle Data Guard or similar. Experience with Linux system administration in database environments. Experience with database monitoring, scripting, and performance tuning. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting database migrations and modernization initiatives. Experience working in hybrid cloud environments. Experience collaborating with development teams on database design and optimization.
