Technical writing for network engineers Full Job Description Position Summary Xcel Structural Cabling is seeking an experienced Senior Data Center Discovery Engineer to perform a comprehensive Connectivity Discovery & Port Mapping engagement within a live enterprise data center environment. The successful candidate will document network, storage, SAN, fiber, power, and infrastructure dependencies required to support a large-scale data center migration from Boulder, Colorado to Dallas, Texas. This role requires hands-on experience working within active production environments where service interruption is not permitted. Responsibilities Perform detailed port-by-port network discovery. Document switch-to-switch connectivity. Document server-to-switch relationships. Trace and document fiber infrastructure. Validate SAN and storage connectivity. Document firewall and

relationships. Perform rack inventory validation. Create detailed rack elevations. Validate power dependencies and PDU assignments. Document inter-rack dependencies. Review and validate existing infrastructure documentation. Support migration planning and future-state design activities.
