IDR is seeking a Data Center Project Engineer to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity with up to 85% travel. This role involves leading the technical delivery of data center infrastructure projects within the enterprise or colocation industry, focusing on structured cabling, fiber installations, and hardware management.
Position Overview for the Data Center Project Engineer:
Lead technical delivery of data center infrastructure projects
Oversee structured cabling and fiber installations
Manage rack & stack activities for networking, server, and storage hardware
Coordinate field engineering teams and subcontractors
Conduct site surveys and develop rack elevations, BOMs, and patch schedules
Requirements for the Data Center Project Engineer:
5+ years of experience delivering physical infrastructure and network solutions in data centers
Industry certifications such as BICSI Technician, RCDD, Exfo/Fluke DTX/Versiv Certification, Cisco CCNA/CCNP
(Data Center) preferred
Experience with structured cabling (Cat6A, OM3/OM4/OS2 fiber)
Proficiency in rack & stack of network, server, and storage equipment
Knowledge of data center networking (Cisco Nexus, Meraki, Arista, Juniper, Palo Alto)
