Job Description
Title ; Database Admin - Sybase & MySQL with banking Eighteen-Month Contract Hybrid - Chandler, AZ (On Site 3x/Week) Must work on our W2 We are seeking a skilled Database Security Patch Engineer to manage and apply security patches for Sybase and MySQL databases on Linux servers. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with database administration, Linux system, and vulnerability remediation.
Assess, plan, and apply security patches and updates for Sybase and MySQL databases on Linux.
Coordinate with vendors and application teams.
Monitor vulnerability reports and ensure timely remediation of database and OS security issues.
Test and validate patches in non-production environments before deployment.
Document patching procedures, schedules, and outcomes.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to patch deployment.
Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry best practices.
5+ years of experience with Sybase and MySQL database administration on Linux.
Familiarity with vulnerability management tools and processes.
Scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation.
Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
