Job Description

Database Administrator I Direct Hire Target Salary:
$115K Hybrid schedule available after onboarding/training period Position Overview Seeking a Database Administrator to support the stability, security, and performance of enterprise database environments. This role will be responsible for database architecture, optimization, monitoring, backup/recovery planning, and ongoing system maintenance while partnering with cross-functional teams to support business-critical applications and initiatives. Key Responsibilities Configure, maintain, and support database environments based on organizational requirements Design and maintain database schemas, tables, indexes, and relationships for scalability and efficiency Monitor and optimize database performance, query execution, and overall system responsiveness Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to minimize downtime and data loss Implement database security measures including user access controls, permissions, and encryption protocols Support data migration efforts between systems and database versions while maintaining data integrity Apply database patches, upgrades, and maintenance updates as needed Forecast storage, memory, and processing requirements to support future growth Troubleshoot and resolve database issues including performance bottlenecks, connectivity concerns, and data inconsistencies Monitor database health, storage utilization, and logs to proactively identify risks or system concerns Maintain documentation related to database architecture, procedures, and operational processes Conduct security reviews and compliance checks to support organizational standards and best practices Develop automation scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual tasks Collaborate with development teams to optimize database interactions and improve application performance Provide technical guidance and support related to database systems and processes Assist with data retention, archiving, and purging strategies to maintain long-term database efficiency Stay current on emerging database technologies, trends, and industry best practices Perform additional duties as needed Qualifications Associate degree in an IT-related field or equivalent professional experience Minimum of 4 years of experience with database administration, architecture, query development, and database security practices Experience with complex SQL development and database optimization techniques Working knowledge of DQL, DML, DDL, and DCL functions Experience with database backup/recovery processes and performance tuning Python or scripting experience is a plus Valid driver's license required Additional Information Flexible scheduling environment Opportunity for hybrid/remote flexibility based on business needs and performance Position plays a key role in operational continuity and system reliability Candidates should be comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced technical environment #SNIT
