Job Summary The Database Administrator (SQL) is responsible for designing, supporting, and optimizing SQL database environments across managed services customers. This role focuses on ensuring database performance, availability, security, and reliability in complex production environments while partnering closely with customers and internal engineering teams. The ideal candidate brings strong SQL expertise, a proactive mindset, and experience supporting large or mission-critical database systems. This is a remote position and requires a dedicated home office, with limited travel as needed. Role Description Design, build, administer, and support SQL database environments across customer-managed platforms Ensure database performance, availability, reliability, and security in production environments Monitor, diagnose, and resolve database performance and stability issues Perform backup, restore, HA/DR , and disaster recovery planning and execution Optimize existing environments and contribute to standardization through documentation and SOPs Participate in and lead managed services projects aligned to customer objectives Engage directly with customers through incident response, change requests, meetings, and status updates Track and document work accurately in the PSA system, including weekly timesheet submission Support audits, compliance efforts, and on-call rotations as required Collaborate with senior engineers for complex escalations and solution design Technical Skills (SQL-Focused) SQL Server administration and troubleshooting Database performance monitoring and tuning HA/DR implementations and recovery planning Version control tools (Git, Azure DevOps, or similar) Strong documentation and change control discipline
