Pentalpha is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Oracle Database Developer to join our team. The Database Developer will play a key role in supporting and enhancing our data systems. Primary responsibilities include loading and validating data required for the initial setup of deals and transactions, enhancing existing ETL workflows, mapping and integrating new data files, and developing and maintaining backend functionality for in-house applications. The role also involves formatting, editing, and creating low- to medium-complexity reports. In addition, the candidate will actively participate in brainstorming sessions, development discussions, and weekly departmental meetings. The successful candidate is encouraged to contribute ideas, feedback, and innovative solutions to improve processes and system performance. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from structured and unstructured sources into relational databases. Design, develop, and maintain database functions, procedures, and triggers. Create and maintain technical documentation, including requirements, design specifications, and user manuals. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data-related issues to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability. Collaborate with business stakeholders to build, enhance, and support database functionality while ensuring alignment with business requirements. Performance Metrics Accurately load monthly data within defined timelines. Properly identify, map, and manage data exceptions generated during loading processes. Maintain up-to-date documentation reflecting changes to processes or requirements. Effectively balance short-term operational tasks with long-term development initiatives. Preferred Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. Required Knowledge and Skills Strong experience with SQL, PL/SQL, or T-SQL and relational database concepts. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. High attention to detail and commitment to data quality. Ability to professionally manage confidential and sensitive information. Preferred Skills and Experience 3-5 years of experience supporting database systems and end users. Hands-on experience with code-based ETL processes. Experience with Python. Experience developing in PL/SQL. Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git. Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently in a self-directed environment.
