ACCFB is in the midst of a very ambitious strategic plan focused on expanding our reach in the community - and we need your help! The Development Associate works collaboratively to provide critical development operations and administrative support to the Development Department with emphasis on gift processing, donor customer service, data management, and reconciliation using the Salesforce constituent database. This individual will be part of a high performing development team working to mobilize resources for ACCFB's mission and raise awareness. Alameda County Community Food Bank is a well-established and multi-faceted organization, which has been at the forefront of hunger relief efforts for 40 years. Essential Duties And Responsibilities :
Gift Processing 60% Enter gift information into database in accordance with data standards, including data from third party and matching gift processors. Review donation data entry from other staff to ensure it adheres to all data standards and identify repeat errors or challenges. Generate, print, and mail accurate acknowledgement letters and tribute cards, working with outside vendor as necessary. Collaborate with Development staff to ensure accurate input of donor and gift information. Work with Finance team to reconcile gifts and ensure alignment between CRM and financial database. Donor Cultivation 15% Interact effectively and professionally with donors, volunteers, staff, and the general public from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds in a culturally diverse environment. Answer donor calls and emails in a timely matter, assist as needed, and log all interactions in database. Enter and maintain donor information in database including gift history, contact information, biographical and demographic information, and relevant contacts and linkages. Accept monetary donations over the phone and in person. Update donor contact information and communication preferences in database. Data Maintenance 15% Identify and merge duplicate records. Run data quality control reports and clean up records as necessary. Flag inconsistencies in data, lack of clarity in documentation, and opportunities to streamline operations. Development Operations Support 10% Train new development operations staff Maintain documentation for Development procedures and data standards. Attend organizational and departmental events, as needed. Carry out other tasks and assignments, special projects and other responsibilities, as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1-2 years of previous data entry experience, preferably with a relational database Great attention to detail and ability to follow a specific protocol. Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment. Proficiency using the MS Office Suite and video conference software such as Zoom or Teams Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent customer service skills including but not limited to empathy, tact, patience, negotiation and assessment with internal and external customers. Excellent judgement around when to show initiative and act independently and when to ask for guidance or support. Can work collaboratively with people who have a variety of working styles, backgrounds, and experience. Access to reliable transportation. Available for occasional work functions off-site and/or outside of normal work hours Ability to work a minimum of 3 days per week on-site at 7900 Edgewater.

Physical Requirements:
The following physical abilities are necessary in the performance of this job: Ability to sit for long periods of time and use computer for long periods of time. This work is in both office environment and community settings. Physical activities necessary in the performance of this job include ability to: Sit for prolonged periods; move throughout the food bank in performance of duties; Ability to conduct tours in warehouse on a regular basis. Ability to read and write in English. Ability to use a computer to accomplish the duties of the position, including typing and including walking, bending, stopping, and squatting; communicate in a clear speaking voice; interpret instructions; and use a computer.
Union Representation:
ACCFB is in partnership with and has a newly established labor union for a portion of our staff. This position is part of the labor union OPEIU, Local 29.
Compensation:
This is a full-time, non-exempt position working Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (7.5 hour workday, 1 hour unpaid lunch). Employee will be required to be on-site at 7900 Edgewater 100% of the time until after the 90-day Introductory period, at which point a hybrid schedule may be discussed. The non-negotiable starting salary is $27.92 per hour (approx. $54,444 per year).
